Linda Haas Manley has lived in New York for more than 20 years, residing in the Town of Poughkeepsie’s Ward 5 since 2011. She has served as a Democratic Committee member in the Town of Poughkeepsie and Dutchess County for seven years, supporting the democratic process by petitioning, visiting public officials, and registering voters.

Linda is deeply concerned with the well-being of county residents in all stages and walks of life. As a community leader, she has devoted herself to efforts that support children, seniors, families, working people, union members, and veterans. Linda has chaired a social ministry committee, served on the board of a nonprofit agency, and is Workforce Pathways Coordinator at Dutchess Community College.

As a legislator, Linda will use her experience to fight for all residents to have access to a quality education, relevant workforce training, effective mental health care, and affordable housing. Linda is concerned about the dignity of all people and, as a proud union member, supports fair working conditions, strong public schools, and lower taxes for county residents.

Linda is known for coordinating events. Most recently, she collaborated with 100+ employers, college staff, and community members to connect job seekers with employment opportunities through the DCC Career Fair. Now, she is working to revive DCC’s service-learning program to help students get experience with agencies and businesses and enter the workforce better prepared to make important contributions to their communities.Mid-

Linda is  on the board of Hudson Love Inc. She co-chairs the Social Ministry Team at St. John’s Church, and has actively volunteered to address food insecurity.

Linda also is a dedicated wife and mother who enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. James “JJ” Manley Jr., her two sons, James III and Michael, and her two rescue dogs, Bella and Ruby Rose.
